Polperro Mornington Pinot Gris 2020
Lovely colour in the glass at first glance it’s light straw but if you really try, I can see a tinge of red (not red red but a slight tinge).
On the nose really elegant, restrained light pear, hint of spice. On the palate seriously stunning mouthfeel. Mouth coating texture, leaving you with a long finish but also exciting vibrancy from the acid.
Perfect balance all components together. There’s a slight fullness to it leaning to sweetness but also not really.
More ripe, fresh pear on the palate making me want to attack one of those cheese boards that's half fruit, and has a selection of cheese pastes. Oh, now I’m thinking I want a sharp cheese with some honey over the top, a slice of fresh pear, a walnut and a sip of this wine.
